Established in 2020, Angus Stevens Architects is a human-centric design studio based in Sydney. Our vision is to create timeless spaces that balance beauty, functionality and sustainability with a profound respect for the surrounding landscape. Each project involves purposeful collaboration with the client, designed to create spaces that enhance both the experience of its inhabitants and the character of its environment.

Angus is an award-winning Scottish-Australian Architect with over a decade of experience designing residential, commercial and cultural spaces across the East Coast of Australia and Hong Kong.

Grounded in the belief that architecture should be both a reflection of personal identity and a catalyst for enriching daily life, Angus’ approach draws on a deep understanding of art, architecture, and urban design. This helps to ensure every project reflects the unique needs and aspirations of its inhabitants, while inviting inspiration, comfort and restoration into each space for years to come.

Beyond his practice, Angus has tutored at the University of Sydney, teaching design and building technology to undergraduate students. He has also participated in USYD initiatives like the Wingara Mura-Bunga Barrabugu Summer Program, engaging Indigenous teenagers in educational workshops about the built environment.

While his primary focus is on residential design, Angus also invites opportunities to shape commercial spaces, with experience in retail, hospitality and educational establishments.

We consider the broader context of your site and budget to transform this vision into design concepts for you to review.

Design development

Together, we refine these initial concepts into one cohesive design that aligns with aesthetic, functional, and regulatory requirements.

Statutory approvals

We take care of the necessary approval processes, navigating any complexities to ensure a seamless progression of your project.

Construction documentation

We carefully create precise documentation to guide the construction phase, ensuring the integrity of the design is maintained throughout the project.

Contractor selection

We assist you in selecting the contractors best suited to your unique project while balancing quality, expertise, and budget considerations.

Project management

Over the course of the construction phase, we will oversee the alignment of contractual agreements, timelines, budgets and quality standards.
